Croinnoisseur
It’s been a minute since I’ve had a croissant, let alone a good croissant. But today I finally got to try the sourdough croissant at Iggy’s Bread.
Yes, I know: sourdough?! But you can barely taste it — I only could detect it because I knew it was sourdough. And the croissant was marvelous. The best butter croissant I’ve had in Sydney so far. Perfectly flaky on the outside, pillowy on the inside, and buttery all over.
A butter croissant is the most difficult to perfect, in my opinion. While good, flavored croissants can very easily mask the quality of the croissant itself with different add-ins: chocolate, frangipane, ham and cheese, pistachio and rose. However, since Iggy’s has perfected the plain croissant, I can’t wait to go back to try the rest that they offer!
(In case you didn’t know, I’m a croissant croinnoisseur 🥐 )
