La Perouse
I joined friends (I have friends!) on the La Perouse Walk (“walk” is essentially Aussie slang for a trail) today, and it wasn’t until I was halfway through the trail that I realized I’d been here before!

After flipping through my photos I discovered I was last here on Jan 22, 2024. It all came back to me then — I’d taken the bus to the park to do a long run here, wanting the opportunity to run along the coastline outside of Sydney, and being filled with wonder at how much beauty I could see on a casual run.
Today’s spontaneous hike also reminded me that while I’m actively working to find a job, it’s okay to take time to travel and explore and actually experience what it’s like to live in Sydney. That it’s completely okay to go out and make time to be in nature because that is a huge part of why I moved here in the first place.
